Fitly Privacy Policy

Effective 16 October 2026

Fitly is a fitness, nutrition and habit tracker. This policy explains what it collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers the Fitly mobile app and its API. The data controller is Fitly's operator, reachable at the address under Contact.

What Fitly stores

When you create an account, Fitly stores what you enter and what you log:

Why, and on what basis

Fitly does not make automated decisions with legal or similar effects about you. Calorie and training targets are calculations you can override.

Health and fitness data

If you connect Apple Health or Health Connect, Fitly reads steps, distance, active energy, exercise minutes, sleep and workouts to fill in your habits and dashboard. This data is read on your device.

Fitly does not upload your Apple Health or Health Connect data to its servers, and does not use it for advertising or share it with anyone. If you switch the connection off, Fitly stops reading it. Fitly can also write the workouts you log back to the health store, which you can turn off separately.

What Fitly does not do

Who else is involved

If you connect your own AI assistant through Fitly's MCP connector, that assistant reads and writes your Fitly data on your instruction, under its own provider's privacy policy. The Coach shortcut works differently: it opens Claude or ChatGPT in your browser with a prompt that includes your plan, today's intake and training status in the page address. Nothing is sent until you press send there, but the address passes through your browser's history.

Your rights

Wherever you live, and as a matter of law in the EEA, UK and other places with similar rules, you can:

Requests by email are answered within one month.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account from inside the app: Account → Delete account. This permanently removes your profile, plan, workouts, food, habits, metrics, custom exercises, consent record and the bug reports you sent (with their screenshots), asks the subscription processor to forget you, and deletes your sign-in. It cannot be undone, so download your data first if you want a copy.

Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription, because that subscription belongs to your Apple or Google account. Cancel it in your store's subscription settings.

Two things are kept, both under a one-way hash of your account id that identifies nobody and holds nothing you entered: the date your free month began (so the same login can't start a new free month by deleting and re-creating its data), and the day's usage counts — how many AI estimates, food searches, bug reports and exports you made today — which expire within two days and exist only so the daily limits can't be reset the same way.

How long Fitly keeps things

Where it is stored

Fitly runs on Amazon Web Services in the United States (US East, Ohio). If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, your data is transferred there. The transfer relies on AWS's Data Processing Addendum, which incorporates the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum, and on the security measures described below.

How it is protected

Everything travels over TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by AWS. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Cognito, which stores passwords only as salted hashes. Each request is checked against your signed-in session, so one account can never read another's data. Bug reports are stored in a private bucket readable only by Fitly's operator.

Children

Fitly is not intended for children under 13, and Fitly does not knowingly collect their data.

Not medical advice

Fitly provides general wellness and coaching information based on what you log. It does not diagnose, treat or prevent any medical condition. Talk to a qualified professional before making significant changes to your training or diet.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and the app tells you the next time you sign in. The terms of service are the other half of the agreement.
